Keeping Our Hearts Open – 12-26-22
Rising above anger and despair while still keeping our hearts open to the ocean of cruelty, indifference, and suffering on this earth is not easy. It requires cultivating wisdom and compassion—both the inner silent receptivity that links us to the eternal truth of our being and the outer actions of serving and helping others that give meaning to our life.
Glimpsing the Truth Beyond Appearances – 12-27-22
Glimpsing this essential nature that we share with all beings not only deepens our yearning to relieve their suffering but also strengthens our ability to work effectively to do so. Seeing victims and perpetrators not merely in these roles but in their spiritual perfection and completeness is profoundly healing. We see that there are no enemies—no essentially evil people or completely hopeless or destructive situations. There are, rather, opportunities to grow, learn, serve, and work together to raise consciousness and bring compassion and understanding to the painful and unjust situations we may see unfolding around us.
Earth’s Magnificent Abundance – 12-28-22
Everyone on this Earth could be fed easily because we currently grow more than enough grain to feed ten billion people; our current practice of feeding this grain to untold billions of animals and eating them forces over a billion of us to endure chronic malnutrition and starvation while another billion suffer from the obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer linked with eating diets high in animal foods.
The Metaphor of Eating – 12-29-22
The metaphor of eating is central to spiritual communion with the divine presence. It is universally recognized that eating food is both a literally and symbolically sacred action: it is directly partaking of the infinite order that transcends our finite lives.
The Web of Corruption – 12-30-22
The transnational corporations profit from animal food consumption, as do the big banks, which have made the loans that have built the whole complex and demand a healthy return on their investments. The system spreads relentlessly and globally, and while corporate and bank returns may be healthy, people, animals, and ecosystems throughout the world fall ill and are exploited and destroyed.
We Are All Connected – 12-31-22
As we bless others, we are blessed, and seeing beings rather than things, our own being is liberated and enriched.
As we remove the violence from our daily meals, we will naturally increase our ability to heal our divisions, nurture our creativity and joy, restore beauty and gentleness, and be role models of sensitivity and compassion for our children.
Happy New Year of Light – 2023
Published January 1, 2023 | By Will Tuttle
May the spirit of Love, Truth and Freedom radiate the living light of awakening – Into our hearts and into the hearts of our fellow humans,
Sparking insight and compassion for animals, our Earth, and each other.
May the deceptive narratives of exploitation be exposed for all to see.
May the beckoning doorway of a vegan world of respect for all living beings draw us ever onward and upward.
May we live and embody our commitment to respect the sovereignty of individual beings, and never comply with injustice, oppression, and deceit.
Dear friends, we have just finished the first month of our Benevolent Revolution Tour – 18 beautiful events promoting kindness, freedom, and spiritual health, while crossing from California through AZ, NM, and TX.
We greet you now from south Florida. We will be here for a couple of months, offering events through Hippocrates and other venues, and returning in March to California on a slightly more northerly route. Deep thanks to the many caring and creative fellow advocates making this all possible, with whom we are honored to be working, contributing, and learning.
May we go forth and multiply the season’s message of peace, harmony, joy, and liberation for all!
Share the Peace
Our main website and daily VegInspiration
There are strong voices in all religious traditions emphasizing that our kindness to other beings should be based on compassion. This is more than merely being open to the suffering of others; it also explicitly includes the urge to act to relieve their suffering. We are thus responsible not just to refrain from harming animals and humans, but also to do what we can to stop others from harming them, and to create conditions that educate, inspire, and help others to live in ways that show kindness and respect for all life. This is the high purpose to which the core teachings of the world’s wisdom traditions call us. It is an evolutionary imperative, a spiritual imperative, an imperative of compassion, and, in reality, a vegan imperative.
