Your Daily VegInspiration: Becoming A Voice For Those Who Have No Voice | Dr. Will Tuttle | 1-30-23 – 2-5-23

[Check back daily for additional messages for this week and find previous posts with Will’s VegInspirations by searching this site for Tuttle]

A positive approach is essential because it mobilizes our spiritual resources, generates enthusiasm, and brings more joy and love into our world.

Responding to the Vegan Imperative – 1-30-23

Eating animal foods is an indefensible holdover from another era beyond which we must evolve, and with the ever-increasing profusion of vegan and vegetarian cookbooks and vegan foods like soy milk, soy ice cream, rice syrup, tofu, veggie burgers, and so forth, as well as fresh organically grown vegetables, legumes, fruits, grains, nuts, pastas, and cereals, we see alternatives proliferating. Books, videos, websites, vegetarian/vegan restaurants and menu options, animal rights groups, and vegan organizations are also multiplying as we respond to the vegan imperative.

Predatory Economics – 1-31-23

As we all know in our bones, there is a predatory quality to our economic system, and competition underlies all our institutions. We prey upon each other. It may not be obvious from within our planet’s dominant society, but our culture and our corporations and other institutions act in ways that can only be described as predatory vis-à-vis those who are less industrialized, less wealthy, and less able to protect themselves.

The Wisdom We Seek – 2-1-23

Intuition opens the door to healing. It never sees any living being as an object to be used but sees all beings as unique and complete expressions of an infinite universal presence, to be honored, respected, learned from, and celebrated. Intuition is Sophia, the beloved wisdom we yearn for and seek.

Predatory Economics – 2-3-23

As we all know in our bones, there is a predatory quality to our economic system, and competition underlies all our institutions. We prey upon each other. It may not be obvious from within our planet’s dominant society, but our culture and our corporations and other institutions act in ways that can only be described as predatory vis-à-vis those who are less industrialized, less wealthy, and less able to protect themselves.

Living in Harmony – A Liberating Gift! – 2-4-23

We can realize that we are meant to live in harmony with the other animals of this earth because we’ve been given bodies that actually function better without killing and stealing from them. What a liberating gift! No animal need ever fear us, because there is no nutrient that we need that we cannot get from non-animal sources.

Becoming A Voice For Those Who Have No Voice – 2-5-23

By recognizing and understanding the violence inherent in our culture’s meal rituals and consciously adopting a plant-based diet, becoming a voice for those who have no voice, we can attain greater compassion and happiness and live more fully the truth of our interconnectedness with all life. In this we fulfill the universal teachings that promote intelligence, harmony, and spiritual awakening.

There are strong voices in all religious traditions emphasizing that our kindness to other beings should be based on compassion. This is more than merely being open to the suffering of others; it also explicitly includes the urge to act to relieve their suffering. We are thus responsible not just to refrain from harming animals and humans, but also to do what we can to stop others from harming them, and to create conditions that educate, inspire, and help others to live in ways that show kindness and respect for all life. This is the high purpose to which the core teachings of the world’s wisdom traditions call us. It is an evolutionary imperative, a spiritual imperative, an imperative of compassion, and, in reality, a vegan imperative.

Udo Erasmus, Ph.D., writer and the creator of Udo’s Choice® is an international authority on fats, oils, cholesterol and human health. His best-selling book, “Fats that Heal – Fats That Kill” has been a major influence on the world’s understanding of how important Essential Fatty Acids are for human health. Udo is passionate about helping people to understand the importance of good nutrition as well as how to obtain optimal nutrition from quality ingredients and continues to develop health solutions for modern health concerns today. Udo Erasmus’s other Book; The Book on Total Sexy Health is an introduction to how you can take charge of being sexy by being healthy. Everyone wants to be sexy. Sexy is the adjective we use for showing that we are vital, present, attractive, admirable, and noticeable. However, few people know that health is sexy’s foundation. Fully sexy comes from fully healthy. What’s that take? Life created health based in nature and human nature. Food and fitness are only one part of healthy/sexy. Living aligned, present, and comfortable in our awareness, life energy, mental creativity, physical shape, survival confidence, social group, nature, and infinity, we feel healthy/sexy, and we appear sexy to others. Each of the 8 distinct aspects of our nature and our context has a different function, needs a different kind of attention, goes off in a different way, and requires a different intervention. Disconnection from one of these 8 removes part of our natural, inherent, built-in sexiness. Re-connection regains it. It’s that simple. Over the past 15 years, Dr Erasmus has had the pleasure and honor to grace the stages with luminaries like Tony Robbins (on oils) and Deepak Chopra (on peace,) keynoted an international Brain Health conference, and lectured in conferences on five continents. He writes on many different titles and topics, including an autobiography. He consults, presently and takes on the key global issues of our time, and spearheads several multi-trillion dollar projects on peace, health, energy, environment, and education. He is focused on sustainable energy and water management, as well as healthcare based in nature and human nature, the nature of human nature, and the thirst of the heart resulting in perfect health for you, your family and the world.

Your Daily VegInspiration: Self-Oriented Thinking | Dr. Will Tuttle | 1-23-23 – 1-29-23

[Check back daily for additional messages for this week and find previous posts with Will’s VegInspirations by searching this site for Tuttle]

A positive approach is essential because it mobilizes our spiritual resources, generates enthusiasm, and brings more joy and love into our world.

Looking the Other Way – 1-23-23

Learning to look the other way brings spiritual death in everyone who practices it. In encouraging it, religious institutions show how far they have strayed from the passionate mercy and all-seeing kindness taught and lived by those whose spiritual evolution and illumination inspired the institutions themselves.

Core of All World’s Religions is to Love Others – 1-24-23

Spiritual teachings of our interconnectedness and the vegan ethic of universal compassion, besides being vital and transformative, are in profound alignment with the core instruction of the world’s religions, which is to love others.

Inner Peace is the Fruit of Awareness – 1-25-23

Disconnecting and desensitizing in comfort is not the same as inner peace, which is the fruit of awareness and of living in alignment with the understanding that comes from this awareness.

Uncomfortable With Introspection 1-26-23

Our minds and consciousness are almost completely unexplored territory because we have been raised in a herding culture that is fundamentally uncomfortable with introspection. Our science blatantly ignores consciousness as an unapproachable, unquantifiable and unopenable “black box” and distracts us with focusing solely on measurable phenomena. Our religions discourage meditation and reduce prayer to a dualistic caricature of asking and beseeching an outside, enigmatic, and projected male entity.

The Essence of Love 1-27-23

Post-rational intuitive knowing can be born as a sense of being connected with all beings. No longer being merely a parade of conditioned thoughts revolving around a sense of being a separate self, we can sense more deeply into the nature of being and begin to know outside the limitations of linear thinking. With this comes an understanding that our essential nature is not evil, confined, selfish, or petty, but is eternal, free, pure, and is of the essence of love.

What We Can Learn from Animals – 1-28-23

We may discover that we can “think” with our hearts, without words, and we may learn to appreciate the consciousness of animals and begin to humbly explore their mysteries. There is perhaps much we can learn from animals. Not only do they have many powers completely unexplainable by contemporary science, but they are fellow pilgrims with us on this earth who contribute their presence to our lives and enrich our living world in countless essential ways. In fact, without the humble earthworms, bees, and ants whom we relentlessly kill and dominate, the living ecosystems of our earth would break down and collapse—something we certainly cannot say about ourselves!

Self-Oriented Thinking – January 29, 2023

As long as we remain imprisoned in the maze of self-oriented thinking, we can easily justify our cruelty to others, excuse our hard eyes and supremacist position, discount the suffering we impose on others, and continue on, rationalizing our actions and blocking awareness of the reality of our feelings and of our fundamental oneness with other beings.

Ranch Rescue – An Official Rowdy Girl Sanctuary Mini Documentary | Renee & Tommy Sonnen

Ranch Rescue is a poignant depiction of life as it happened during the epic Hurricane Harvey that tore through Rowdy Girl Sanctuary late August of 2017. This 30 minute documentary is chock full of dramatic footage covering the farm animal rescue, the grueling evacuation, the unfolding topic of climate change and the growing need to rescue ranches and keep animals off of our plate.

A Message From Rowdy Girl Sanctuary’s Founder

It all started with Rowdy Girl, a little 2 month old baby calf that my husband wanted me to care for, hoping I would start wanting to be a “good” ranchers wife.  I bought her for $300 having no idea that she would take me down the rabbit hole where I would come out on the other side of compassion for all sentient beings – even the ones that used to end up on my plate.  The rest they say is her-story.

Becoming vegan for me has been a result of living on the Sonnen Ranch, now Rowdy Girl Sanctuary with my multi-generational cattle rancher husband – I couldn’t take the red trailer leaving with the babies anymore – As a result I started watching documentaries and slaughterhouse videos and when I made the corner, I’ve never looked back. Forever Vegan!

Folks Who Eat A Meat Based Diet Generate Lots Of TMAO In Their Blood Which Leads To Higher Death | Michael Klaper, MD | The Real Truth About Health

• Book – Vegan Nutrition : Pure and Simple

#MichaelKlaper #Diet #Nutrition #DoctorKlaper

Dr. Michael Klaper is a gifted clinician, internationally-recognized teacher, and sought-after speaker on diet and health.

Dr. Michael Klaper resolutely believes that proper nutrition — through a whole food, plant-based diet — and a balanced lifestyle are essential for health and, in many cases, can make the difference between healing an illness or merely treating its symptoms.

In addition to his clinical practice and private consultations with patients, he is a passionate and devoted educator of physicians and other healthcare professionals about the importance of nutrition in clinical practice and integrative medicine.

Dr. Klaper is the author of Vegan Nutrition; Pure & Simple (no longer in print) and has produced numerous health videos, webinars, and dozens of articles for both scientific journals and the popular press. As a source of inspiration advocating plant-based diets and the end of animal cruelty worldwide.

Dr. Klaper contributed to the making of two PBS television programs, Food for Thought and the award-winning movie, Diet for a New America (based on the book of the same name).

Dr. Klaper teaches that “Health Comes From Healthy Living” and he is dedicated to the healing and flourishing of all living beings and our planet.

“Health is having a body that moves without pain, breathes without distress and allows us to perform the activities of life with complete presence and focused energy. Then, we can love fully and enjoy our lives to the fullest.”

Dr. Michael Klaper graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He served a medical internship at Vancouver General Hospital in British Columbia, Canada and received training in surgery, anesthesiology and orthopedics at the University of British Columbia Hospital in Vancouver. Additionally, he was trained in obstetrics at the University of California Hospital, San Francisco.

As his medical career progressed, Dr. Klaper began to realize (true to what science is bearing out today) that many of the diseases his patients presented – clogged arteries (atherosclerosis), high blood pressure (hypertension), obesity, adult-onset diabetes and even some forms of arthritis, asthma, and other significant illnesses – were made worse or actually caused by the high sugar, high fat, high salt, overly processed, animal product-based, Standard American Diet (S.A.D.).

Dr. Klaper has served as Director of the Institute of Nutrition Education and Research , where he conducted a study that focused on people who ate a completely plant-based or vegan diet.

Dr. Klaper practiced acute care medicine in New Zealand for three years and from served on staff at the TrueNorth Health Center, North America’s premier nutritionally-based medical clinic that specializes in therapeutic fasting and health improvement through a whole food, plant-based diet. Your Daily VegInspiration: Something About Veganism… | Dr. Will Tuttle | 1-16-23 – 1-22-23

[Check back daily for additional messages for this week and find previous posts with Will’s VegInspirations by searching this site for Tuttle]

A positive approach is essential because it mobilizes our spiritual resources, generates enthusiasm, and brings more joy and love into our world.

Living In Intimate Connection With All Life – 1-16-23

We are called to shake the old stagnation and comfortable disconnections out of our minds and bodies, embrace the evolutionary urge within us to awaken compassion and intuitive wisdom, and live our lives in accord with the truth that we are connected intimately with all living beings.

Awaken Our Capacity to Love – 1-17-23

Love brings freedom, joy, power, grace, peace, and the blessed fulfillment of selfless service. Our true nature, our future self, beckons irresistibly as an inner calling to awaken our capacity for love, which is understanding.

Expanding Compassion – 1-18-23

With love and understanding awakening in us, compassion expands to include ever-larger circles of beings.

Compassion may be seen as the highest form of love, for it is the love of the divine whole for all its parts and is reflected in the love of the parts for each other. It includes the urge to act to relieve the suffering of apparent others, and this urge requires us to evolve greater wisdom and inner freedom to relieve suffering more effectively.

Compassion is thus both the fruit of evolution and the driving force behind it. Love yearns for greater love.

Good food for good people – 1-19-23

Every day we cause over thirty million birds and mammals and forty-five million fish to be fatally attacked so we can eat them, and it’s universally considered to be good food for good people. With these meals, we feed our shadow, which grows strong and bold as it gorges itself on our repressed grief, guilt, and revulsion.

Every One of Us Is Essential – 1-20-23

Every one of us, as representatives of our culture, is an essential part of the fundamental transformation and awakening.

Transforming Culture – 1-21-23

Living a consequent vegan life naturally encourages us to awaken from the consensus trance that brings unquestioning conformity and allows cruelty and slavery to continue. Refusing to see animals as commodities, we are able to see through countless other pretenses. And, as transformative as this is for an individual to experience, it would be infinitely more transformative for our culture to do so, and to evolve beyond the obsolete orientation that sees animals as mere food commodities.

Something About Veganism… – 1-22-23

Judging by the generally small numbers who have actually gone vegan in our culture, it appears that this commitment requires a certain breakthrough that has been generally elusive because of the mentality of domination and exclusion we’ve all been steeped in since birth. There is something about veganism that is not easy, but the difficulty is not inherent in veganism, but in our culture.

How Big Pharma Benefits From Our Industrial Food Diet | By Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D. | ChildrensHealthDefense.org

Skyrocketing rates of obesity and diabetes in the U.S. raise questions about what we’re eating, whether today’s food acts more like a drug and how Big Pharma benefits from our industrial food diet, according to investigative podcaster James Li.

In an episode of Breaking Points “51-49 with James Li,” Li asked:

“Is there something about nutrition — the food that we are eating — that is severely impacting our health and causing us to be fatter and sicker than we’ve ever been in history?”

Li discussed research conducted by Denis Burkitt, an Irish surgeon (1911-1993) who — by studying the differences in the feces and overall health of people in Africa compared with people in Europe and North America — hypothesized that people in high-income countries generally have “severely fiber-deficient diets” and related health problems mainly due to the over-processing of natural foods in those regions.

Since Burkitt’s death in 1993, Li said, Burkitt’s hypothesis has been verified and extended by large-scale epidemiological studies showing that fiber deficiency increases the risk of colon, liver and breast cancer and increases all cancer mortality and death from diabetes, cardiovascular, infectious and respiratory diseases, and all non-cardiovascular, non-cancer causes.

“We sure have talked an awful lot about science over the past several years,” Li said. “This, however, is probably some of the most fascinating research I’ve come across.”

“But for some reason,” he added, “it gets almost no coverage and we have to wonder — why?”

Li pointed out that grains — such as rice and wheat — naturally have fiber in them, but this fiber is typically removed by industrial food companies when they process the grains to make consumer products.

“It’s profitable to sell food that is fatty and sugary and salty and addictive,” Li said, adding that it’s “much less profitable to sell food that is wholesome — high in fiber — and minimally processed.”

He added:

“Is it not extremely frustrating that so many solvable problems in our society stem from the fact that solving that problem would necessarily disrupt a very profitable financial scheme?”

Dairy Consumption Is The Most Abnormal Dietary Practice Humans Engage In | Dr. Milton Mills | The Real Truth About Health

Milton Mills, MD

https://www.preventionofdisease.org/m…

#MiltonMills #DiseasePrevention #Vegan

Milton Mills, MD practices urgent care medicine in the Washington DC area, and has served previously as Associate Director of Preventive Medicine and as a member of the National Advisory Board, for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). He has been a major contributor to position papers presented by PCRM to the United States Department of Agriculture regarding Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and has been the lead plaintiff in PCRM’s class action lawsuit that asks for warning labels on milk.

Dr. Mills earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine, and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He has published several research journal articles dealing with racial bias in federal nutrition policy. He frequently donates his time via practicing at free medical clinics, and travels widely, speaking at hospitals, churches and community centers throughout the country.

He was featured in the recent attention-getting film “What the Health,” and will also appear in the upcoming film “The Silent Vegan.” A major focus of Dr. Mills’ patient advisement as well as his lecturing, is the use of nutritional measures to reduce the risk of major chronic diseases. He notes that the scientific research literature shows plant-based diets as supporting better overall immune system function, and during work with HIV-positive and AIDS patients at clinics, he’s observed that those who go vegetarian seem to improve, with increased energy and higher T-cell counts. He therefore hopes throughout the future to examine further the relationships between diet and immune functionality, particularly the effects of plant-based eating choices upon outcomes for HIV-positive patients.
